Working to protect and enhance the Lickey Hills and their environs
As reported in the previous Newsletter, there has been an increase in the number of quad bikes and motor bikes illegally using the Country Park. It is physically impossible to prevent these bikes entering the Park and we would ask anyone who sees them to inform the police on 101, the police non-emergency number. The police are unlikely to respond to individual calls but over a period, they will be able to build up a picture of the problem and hopefully they will then take action. Please also inform the Rangers on 0121 445 6036.
We are delighted to report that Keith has been offered Life Membership of the LHS and that he has gratefully accepted. Keith has worked tirelessly on a number of the Society's projects in recent years where his design and computer skills can be seen to good effect. Keith's first major project was to design and create the Great Walks booklet - the text was provided by members of the Society but it was Keith (assisted by his son Simon) who drew everything together in a very attractive 'package' which has proved to be extremely popular and has sold well. The second major project was the creation of the Information Board in the Community Orchard which has again been very well received. Keith has attended many meetings over the years and has worked extremely diligently in support of the Society, for which we are very grateful.
